The Americana II Series automatically controls the cooling unit based on the surrounding ambient temperature, ensuring efficient performance and keeping your food at the perfect temperature.

The refrigerator also features a solid steel frame construction which is beneficial for many reasons. This design creates a better seal for the magnetic door gaskets, leading to superior cooling performance in both normal 90 and high 110 ambient temperatures. The frame also allows for a stronger attachment point for the door hinges which helps prevent the doors from sagging overtime.

It keeps cold air in, and warm air out! Which also reduces the need for frost limiters which can cycle (turn off) the cooling system at inopportune times in hotter temperatures.

While it does require manual defrosting, you can choose when to defrost. The frequency will depend on weather (humidity), how often the door is opened and left open, or how well the refrigerator is vented. Dometic also adds foam around the steel frame surround for some extra insulation.

The redesigned ergonomic, one-motion pull action handle gives you more of a residential feel when it comes to opening and closing your refrigerator. To open, you simply pull the door open, no lock or button needs to be pressed to open. To close, you will shut the door all the way by pushing it closed until you hear a “click” sound.

Dometic’s new LED light feature illuminates the fresh food compartment 30% more than before! Because it is an LED light, it will burn cooler and use less energy than the competition’s incandescent bulb!

For a more sleek design, Dometic has made the thermostat accessible from behind the freezer door. The thermostat is preset for optimal cooling and to adjust the temperature, you simply open the lower refrigerator door and slide the thermistor located on the cooling fins to raise or lower the temperature.
