A temperature & pressure safety relief valve protects the water heater from excessive temperature & pressure. If either condition develops, the valve opens automatically & discharges water to reduce temperature & pressure.

**Notice: For safety, always install a new temp & pressure valve when replacing heating elements or thermostats. Can be installed into top or side of water heater.**
